Ich möchte Ihnen kurz ein paar Informationen zu meinem Werdegang und meinen aktuellen Tätigkeiten bei der Tesnet Group geben.

Aufgewachsen in Westfalen am Rande des Ruhrgebietes, habe ich mich zunächst vor allem für Fußball und Leichtathletik interessiert, technische Fragestellungen eher mit der Ballbehandlung und Wurftechnik. Erst nach meinem Geografie-Studium und den ersten Berufsjahren im Naturschutz kam ich über Umwege in die Qualitätssicherung von Software und IT-Systemen.

Sehr bereichernd im positiven Sinne war meine Tätigkeit im deutschen LKW-Mautsystem als Tester und Testleiter im Bereich der Individualsoftware des Systems. Seitdem habe ich in verschiedenartigen Projekten mitgearbeitet, von der Anforderungsanalyse und Testfallerstellung für Billingsysteme bis zur Tooleinführung für das Testmanagement und zur Testautomatisierung im Bankengewerbe. Damit verbunden war das Kennenlernen verschiedenster Werkzeuge zur Testunterstützung wie zum Beispiel Quality Center  (HP), BIT (SQS), TestOffice (Spirit SE), Synergy Change (Telelogic) usw. Selbst nach ISTQB zertifiziert führe ich die Tesnet-Trainingskurse zum ISTQB-Foundation Level  durch.

Abgesehen von meinem Einsatz im Projekt bin ich als Technical Account Manager Ansprechpartner für die Kunden im Telekommunikationsumfeld und unsere dort eingesetzten Mitarbeiter.

In dieser Position berate ich unsere Kunden hinsichtlich spezieller Fragestellungen, wie Abweichungsmanagement und Toolunterstützung  in Projekten oder der Weiterbildung der Belegschaft und stehe Ihnen gern für Fragen zur Verfügung.

Technical Account Manager Telekommunikation

It is with great pleasure and honor that I have been chosen by Tesnet to be one of the primary contributors for it's Blog.  First, a little bit about myself.


Twenty years ago I was in the Military and my specialty was as a Surveyor.  One day we were out in formation and our commanding officer asked for a volunteer to fill in an open vacancy in our Information Management Department.  He said that the main prerequisites were someone with a good understanding of computers and motivation.  I was young and naive and commited the cardinal sin of the military.  I stepped forward and volunteered.  Since that fateful moment I have been fully immersed in all areas and aspects of the Information Technology field.


During my time in the military I have held positions of IT Auditor, Information and Systems Security Officer, Test Manager, and IT Manager.  Once out of the military, I instantly landed a postition in a large international corporation here in Germany as a Quality Assurance project manager.  This was the turning point of my career.  This is where I started to put all the pieces together and realize that everything that I had done before were all parts of the area known as Quality Assurance.  A solid Quality Assurance program was only as good as every one of it's parts.


I had now found my motivation and desire.  It was like I was born again and had taken my first breath of cold air.  People always ask me why I am so committed to Quality Assurance.  Everytime I stop and many different answers always come to my mind.  My final answer is always the same  "I AM A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER."  Think about it.  No matter what branch of business or industry I am working on a project for, there might be a time in the future where the quality of a product or system I am involved with will directly or indirectly affect me.  I have a strong selfish interest that the product works as was intended and works well.


What will I be blogging about?  I do not know exactly right now.  It is like asking someone what they will have for lunch on this day in one week.  However, I think it will be a mixture of interesting new technologies, lessons learned from experience, and general discussions or ideas.  No matter what, the articles will in someway be related to IT Quality Assurance.

 I am Tesnet-Germany's Solution Architect for Functionality in Tesnet's REST ASSURED Solutions.  What is Functionality?  Basically everything!  Not only am I and Tesnet willing to ensure that your application or tool works as intended but also provide solutions and advice so that your product not only functions as intended but also correctly functions in the entire scheme of your IT and Business Architecture and Processes.
